   Phase II

Development of personal goals and objectives to reach these goals

During this phase the staff assists the client with the development of personal goals and objectives necessary to obtain these goals. These goals may pertain to educational and/or vocational components. Close attention is paid to keeping a client's goals realistic, so that the client can actually accomplish these goals, begin to feel good about himself, and come to a realization that his efforts with recovery are worthwhile.

Upon completion of his "plan of action", the client and staff work together to set the objectives and goals into motion. Once the client has actually begun his objectives, such as beginning a new job, or enrolled in and begun schooling, he would then be moved into Phase III.
